I’m Rob Allen, Director at Sequoia Environmental.  For the last 12 years I’ve been helping my clients with planning issues relating to contaminated land and brownfield site development.  I’ve managed environmental assessment and remedial work on hundreds of sites including: gas works, petrol stations, pesticide factories and tanneries.  I founded Sequoia Environmental to help protect the UK’s green spaces by facilitating much-needed development on brownfield sites.  If you have any queries relating to contaminated land, or to discuss your site in more detail please don't hesitate to get in touch!

FEASIBILITY ASSESSMENT

Prior to embarking on a new project or making a site acquisition, we recommend an initial appraisal into the feasibility of your scheme.  Our feasibility assessments can be undertaken by telephone conversation, video conference or written summary, and are provided as a complimentary service.

Feasibility Assessment

PHASE 1 ENVIRONMENTAL DESK STUDY

The first stage of any Environmental Assessment is a Desk Study, the purpose of which is to characterise the site’s environmental setting and to identify sources of contamination that could pose a risk to either future site users or the surrounding environment.  A Desk Study is now a common planning requirement for any proposed residential development.

SITE INVESTIGATION & REMEDIATION

The nature of any site investigation will depend upon the findings of the Desk Study. However, it doesn’t necessarily have to involve the use of expensive plant and equipment. Often, just collection of a few shallow samples by hand can provide a useful diagnosis into the condition of an area.  In order to make this process more transparent, we have created a detailed infographic, which can be downloaded for free below:
